Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is best described as a natural phenomenon and a state of increased focus and concentration, combined with heightened awareness. This is a state almost anyone can enter if they want to and most importantly, you cannot be forced into it, it is your choice.

When a person enters the state of hypnosis, they are always completely aware of what is going on around them and can chose to stop at any time.

Some people may believe that they cannot be “hypnotised”, however the main reason for this belief is that most people do not realise when they are actually in the state, because they do not feel any different other than the overwhelming feeling of being focused. There are many levels of ‘deepness’ in hypnotic scale and during hypnotherapy a fairly light state of hypnosis is effective. This means that most people are fully aware of their surroundings. It can be likened to the experience of day dreaming or the automatic process of driving down a familiar route or being engrossed in a film.

Why use hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy allows you to access your natural state of mind (or subconscious). This is your true self, there is no right or wrong, no judgement, there just is. We access this by bypassing the critical, conscious part of the mind, the part that tries to justify, explain or give the “right” answer. This allows you to get to the root cause of a problem or symptom and all of this can take place in the privacy of your own mind.

Hypnotherapy has long been established with the work of psychoanalysis, but unfortunately along the way it has gained an unfortunate reputation among some. The use of stage hypnosis and entertainment is not affiliated with clinical hypnotherapy in any way.

Hypnotherapy can help with many different issues.

Hypnotherapy can help with many different symptoms, whether it is affecting you mentally or physically. There has been an abundance of scientific evidence which proves that our emotional experiences are caused by our cognitive thinking first, therefore what we feel is maintained by what we think.  Hypnotherapy is proven to work.

The greatest aspect of hypnotherapy is that you don’t even have to believe in the process for it to be effective, you just have to commit to it. It is a liberating process to realise how quickly you can manage to take responsibility to challenge your thinking.

Please remember that whatever your issue, whether it be something out of the ordinary or not, hypnotherapy may be able to help. Just give me a call and take back the control in your life. All communication is confidential. Remember that there is no obligation to proceed. I understand that, firstly, to take responsibility is the hardest step to gain control of your life and that begins as soon as you make that first contact.
